We had heard about these 6-foot tall sarcophagi placed high up on a cliff near Chachapoyas, Peru, but getting there was quite a challenge. After hours of going the wrong way along stony backroads, we finally get this shot. These massive urns are painted with sharp reds and whites, and decorated with the skulls of the deceased, and to this day it remains a mystery as to how the Chachapoyas people got them up there.
